On August 21, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) that it will launch a pilot for the electronic filing of targeting/enforcement data.Applications to participate in the program are due October 5, 2015. The pilot program will begin July 2016. The program will consist of the electronic collection of importer general conformity certificate (GCC) data based on a previous CPSC proposal that would have significantly altered the current GCC requirements. The previous proposal, which is strongly opposed by FASA and considered an undue burden to fashion accessories companies, was never approved or implemented by the CPSC.
