AAR: U.S. rail traffic rises 2.5% in July

Although carload volumes dropped 0.6 percent for the month, a 5.6 percent increase intermodal traffic spurred continued growth in overall rail volumes in July 2017, and combined traffic for the first seven months is up 4.2 percent, according to the Association of American Railroads.
