Everett Eissenstat is resigning from his position as deputy director of the White House National Economic Council (NEC), effective next month, Politico reported Wednesday.
“Everett was a consummate professional and a valued member of the White House staff,” White House Chief of Staff John Kelly said in a statement, according to the Politico article. “We will miss his deep expertise, commitment to duty and skillful management of the National Economic and National Security Council’s international team.”
The article noted that NEC Director Gary Cohn brought in Eissenstat, who in his capacity serves as the lead U.S. negotiator for international economic summits including G7, G20 and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation group.
