Bacardi USA Inc. has submitted a notification of proposed production activity to the Foreign-Trade Zone Board for its facility in Jacksonville, Fla.
Bacardi already has authority solely for the kitting of alcoholic beverages into gift sets within Subzone 64E. This request is to add finished products and foreign status component to the scope of authority.
For its domestic sales, Bacardi would be able to choose the duty rates during customs entry procedures that apply to gift packs containing glasses as well as Asti spumante, moscato, vermouth, cognac, rum, gun, vodka and tequila.
The component sourced from abroad include Asti spumante, moscatos, all flavors of vermouth, cognacs, whiskeys, rums, gins, all flavors of vodka, all flavors of tequila, ice molds, stemware and lead crystal glass.
Public comment is invited from interested parties. Submissions should be addressed to Elizabeth Whiteman, acting executive secretary, at the Foreign-Trade Zones Board, Room 21013. U.S. Department of Commerce, 1401 Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20230-002. A copy of the notification is available for public inspection on the board’s website. Submissions must be received by Sept. 4.
